Khalifa City (formerly known as Khalifa City A) is a residential complex developed by Aldar Properties. The development is located within a 20 minute drive from Abu Dhabi, along the highway to Dubai. According to the original plan, the development used to comprise three residential complexes — Khalifa City A, Khalifa City B and New Khalifa City. But as the construction continued, the developer decided to segregate these complexes and build three separate communities instead — Khalifa City, Shakhbout City and Zayed City.
Upon completion, Khalifa City will house more than 2,000 villas, 800 of which are already available for sale. Villas are divided into two types — four-bedroom (from AED 2,652,000) and six-bedroom (up to AED 6,600,000). The average rental price of these villas ranges from AED 85,000 for a four-bedroom unit to AED 250,000 for a six-bedroom unit. As for the apartments in Khalifa City, these are only available to rent.
