New Year's Eve fireworks, drone and laser shows will be staged in Abu Dhabi as part of the Sheikh Zayed Festival
New Year celebrations in Abu Dhabi will include large-scale shows and events, which are held as part of the Sheikh Zayed Festival. Visitors to the country's largest annual cultural event at Al Wathba will have a chance to watch a record-breaking fireworks display, drone shows, laser performances, and much more.
This is not the first year that the Festival brings together the residents of Abu Dhabi with a magnificent New Year's Eve show. The sky above the capital will be lit up with fireworks, which are expected to break three Guinness World Records this year; in terms of duration, quantity, and structural complexity. The fireworks will last for an incredible 60 minutes’ and will mark the beginning of 2024.
Another Guinness Record on New Year's Eve will be set by a drone show. Spectators will witness an extraordinary performance in the sky above the festival site, which will be created by 5,000 drones. This unforgettable experience will be complemented by a laser show and the release of 100,000 balloons.
The spirit of the celebration will be enhanced by music and dance performances, DJ sets, carnival processions, and entertainment programmes by festival partners and government institutions. Children will be able to enjoy contests and spectacles, as well as activities in Fun Fair City. At The Heritage Village pavilions, visitors will be able to learn about the New Year traditions of different countries, and take part in the World Civilisations Parade. The New Year's fair will offer gifts and special souvenirs at discounted prices, while multiple restaurants and cafes will serve special festive meals.
The Sheikh Zayed Festival in Abu Dhabi will provide all visitors with an incredible experience and the perfect way to see in the New Year. To ensure that every participant can enjoy the spectacular shows, huge screens will be installed on site to telecast the activities.
Those who will not be able to join the New Year celebrations can visit the Festival until 9th March and take part in its various cultural events. The venue is open every day from 4pm to 12am, and until 1am on the weekends.
